Major Edward Burton Pratt, 78, of Calabash, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Mr. Pratt was born Dec. 31, 1935, in Rockland, Mass., a son of the late Chester Lloyd and Bertha Perrault Pratt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean L. Pratt on Jan. 11.
He retired after 24 years of service as an accomplished jet navigator with the Air Force having served two tours in Vietnam. Following his military service, he was employed for 25 years with H&R Block, North Myrtle Beach, S.C., as branch manager.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen A. McDaniel (Earle), of Longs, S.C.; two sons, Edward L. Pratt of Calabash, and John D. Pratt (Nancy), of Raleigh; sister, Dorothy Salvucci (Daniel), of Rockland, Mass.; three grandchildren, Caroline McDaniel, Benjamin Pratt and Kevin Pratt.
Services will be private.
