Hunter DeWees Adams Jr., 88, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Brunswick Medical Center.
Born on May 23, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Hunter D. and Lily Ordish Adams Sr.
Mr. Adams was a class of 1947 graduate of Duke University with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He was drafted into the U.S. Navy, becoming a Lieutenant and member of the V12 Program. He was employed with Sunoco as a sales representative, covering five states, and had his own company, Petrolube Corporation, for more than 20 years. He was very active and was a founding member of the Shallotte River Power Squadron.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Mae Foulon Adams; a son, Eric David Adams; and a daughter, Cindy Adams, all of Carolina Shores.
The family received friends Monday, June 17, at Lee Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
