Karen Louise Hewett, 52, of Supply, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Born Aug. 21, 1961, in Anderson County, S.C., she was the daughter of David Lee Waters and the late Geneva Mae Edens Waters.
Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Aaron Dean Hewett of the home; a daughter, Adrian Nicole Hewett Varnam of Supply; a son, Aaron Jason Hewett of the home; a sister, Judy Lynn Waters Smith and husband, Maxie Joe Smith, of Honea Path, S.C.; a brother, Kenneth Mack Waters of Pelzer, S.C.; Aunt Vera Edens of Pelzer; Uncle David Earl Edens of Pelzer; and two grandsons, Tyler Varnam and Nicholas Varnam of Supply. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Brenda Hewett of Shallotte; brother-in-law, Don Hewett of Shallotte Point; and sister-in-law, Deanna Johnson and husband, Billy, of Shallotte Point; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Joe Smith, Billy Johnson, Austin Johnson, Justin Hewett, Jimmy Ward and Tom Driver. Honorary pallbearers were Don Hewett, Dale Hewett, Mike Hewett and Butch Lister.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at White Funeral Service in Shallotte, with Dr. Robert Weathers officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends an hour prior to the service at the White Funeral Service Chapel.
