Lois Rhuvene Ingram King, 89, of Ash, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Bolivia.
She was born March 18, 1923, in St. Petersburg, Fla., a daughter of the late Dewitt and Rosie Long Tison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Albert and Emma Mintz, her uncle and aunt with whom she made her home from age 9; her husband of 27 years, William Ermon King; a brother and his wife, Loyd and Mary Ann Tison; a sister, Doris Hamaker; a step-sister, Jenny Tison and a grandson, Shawn Ingram.
She is survived by one son, J.W. "Billy" Ingram and wife Katherine, and their son, Sean; grandson, John "Bill" Ingram and wife Michelle, and sons, John (Kelly), Colby and Logan; granddaughter, Suzanne Fipps, and husband David, and children, Zachary and Haley; grandson, Scott and wife Andrea, and children Emma and Matthew; great-great-grandson, Tyde; step-daughters, Vickie Goldsmith and Cheryl Bottomly; sister, Jewel Williams and her sons Mitchell and Joey Williams and their families; special nephew, Bill Metts and wife Carolyn; step-brothers, Merle and Earl Tison; sister-in-laws, Lela Mae Ezzell, Blondell Hogan and Jeanette King; and her lifelong friend, Kathleen.
Mama, there are angels on this earth and you were certainly one of them.
Funeral services were conducted from the graveside at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Ingram Family Cemetery, in Ash by the Rev. Bill McNeill and the Rev. Brad Ferguson.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brunswick Funeral Service in Shallotte.
