Mr. Charlie Caison, 79, of Supply, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013.

Mr. Caison was born in Brunswick county on April 11, 1934, and was the son of the late Troy and Annie Pearl Hewett Caison. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Wilbur Caison; and three sisters, Addie Varnam, Mazel Benton and Lillian Fulford. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Caison worked for 17 years in the dredging industry with Norfolk Dredging Company and Atkinson Dredging. Following his career in the dredging industry, in 1967 he and his baby brother Henderson purchased a shrimp boat, the "Miss Caison," and later on Charlie purchased his part of the "Miss Caison," and he and Mr. Henderson had their own boats.
He is survived by his wife, Kitty Caison; three children, Sheila Pearl Caison and Robert "Bob" Dennis, Joey Caison and wife, Candy, and Jessica Poole, all of Supply; two grandchildren, Angela Tharp of Ocean Isle, Joey Ward of Shallotte; two great-grandchildren, Avery Tharp, and Kyla Rose Ward; a brother, Henderson Caison of Supply; a sister, Julia Johnson of Supply; three foster children, Diana Taylor of La., Michelle Millis of Md., and Kaitlyn Tolliver of Supply.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. at Sharon United Methodist Church with the Reverends Eddie Hill, Larry Milliken, and Lonnie Varnam officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dane Stanley, Joshua Stanley, Joey Caison, Henderson Caison Jr., Robert Dennis, Daniel Tharp, Joey Ward, Cameron Jones, Brad Benton and Chris Benton. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Benton, Jerry Caison, Johnny Holden and Hinton Fulford.
The family received friends Sunday evening, Oct. 14, at White Funeral Service, Shallotte and other times at the home of Sheila Pearl Caison in Supply.
