Don A. Dibble, 65, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at his home. He was born Aug. 1, 1952, in Jamaica, N.Y., to Dorothy Bunn Dibble, Wilmington, and the late Don A. Dibble Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Judi Stankowich and brother-in-law, Alex Stankowich, Calabash; his nephew, Sosh Stankowich and great-nephew, Damien Stankowich, Wilkes Barre, Pa.;
Don lived in the Morristown/Morris Plains, N.J., area for most of his life, where he graduated from Morristown High School in 1970 and attended East Carolina University. In 1973, he began working at Red Line Commercial Co. with his father, who was president. The time spent working together before his death in 1974 gave Don the training that became his career in the food importing business. He left Red Line Commercial Co. for Rema Foods as the sales/purchasing manager where he continued working until his death. In 2015, Don moved to Brunswick Plantation, Calabash. There he found time for three passions: his family, golf and the nature in his backyard.
During his brief illness, Don was cared for by the doctors and medical staffs associated with Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Supply; McLeod Seacoast Hospital, Little River, S.C.; and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice. His family would like to express their gratitude for the kindness and caring given to Don and his family.
Private services will be held for the family only. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in memory of Don A. Dibble to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401-7335.
