James Junior Barrett, 76, of Bolivia passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus with family by his side Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017.
He was born in Juan, Ky., on April 3, 1941, and spent most of his life in Holland, Mich. He was the son of the late James Barrett and Martha Mullins Barrett of Kentucky. He was an industrial toolmaker who enjoyed golfing, traveling, volunteering in the food pantry and playing with the Praise and Worship Team in Brunswick Islands Baptist Church of which he was a member.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Florence; daughters, Loretta (Patrick) Henry and Sandra (Jeffrey) Chrispell; granddaughters, Melissa (Steve) Spray, Andrea Henry and Amanda Henry; great-granddaughter, Korrah Spray, all of Michigan; brothers, Ray (Mary) Barrett of Florida and Arlie (Joyce) Barrett of Michigan; sisters, Linda James of Florida and Tressa (Elvin) Thacker of Kentucky; brother-in-law, Roger (Mary) Kuite of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Henderson and Daniel; and sisters, Susie Barrett, Bessie Barrett and Gertrude Mabel Ortkiese.
A celebration of his life was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Brunswick Islands Baptist Church in Supply, with visitation one hour prior.
Arrangements are being handled by White Funeral and Cremation Service in Bolivia.
