Gerald "Jerry" E. Wolf Jr. passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the age of 50.
He was born April 23, 1962, in Newport, R.I., to Gerald E. Wolf Sr. and Judy Ann Wolf, before moving to Erie, Pa., where he spent his childhood until graduating from McDowell High School in 1980.
After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, S.C., from 1980-1984, where he served as an electrical technician.
After his service in the Air Force, Jerry moved to Wilmington, continuing a career as an electrical technician. He developed A Wolf Company in 1996 where he was owner, president and operator.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica Wolf of Portland, Ore., Kaitlyn Wolf of Kure Beach, and his loving fiancé, Trish Severance of Amesbury, Mass. He is also survived by his father, Gerald (Jerry) E. Wolf Sr. (Ruby) of Southport (Boiling Spring Lakes); and his mother, Judy Gmytruk (John) of Castle Hayne; also by his sisters, Julie Wolf Curry (Jeff) of Wilmington, and Jody Wolf-Cooke (Kent) of Rocky Point; niece, Jaime Jackson (Shane); and great-niece, Ainsley Jackson of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; a nephew, Jeremy Curry, USN of Okinawa, Japan; special cousin, Michael Stafford of Akron, Ohio; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.
Jerry was a well-loved man, known best for his attention to detail and willingness to help others with a special demonstrated kindness exhibited to military veterans. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.
He brought a joyous light and quirky sense of humor to life. He was a lover of books, animals and nature. Jerry always managed to find the beauty in life that few others saw. He will be greatly missed by many as a son, brother, father, mentor, a multitude of extended family and loyal friends.
