Linda Belle Redwine Banks, 67, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C.
Mrs. Banks was born in Brunswick County, April 7, 1946. She graduated from Waccamaw High School in Ash in 1964. She and her husband, Willard W. Banks, owned Arnold Opticians in the Greenville area and retired to Myrtle Beach in June 2011.
Linda devoted her entire life to her family and friends. She was a thoughtful, caring, loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and a friend to all. Her mission in life was to create wonderful memories for her family. Mrs. Banks was a member of First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert Redwine and Lina Belle Russ Redwine; and a nephew, James Christopher Evans.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Willard W. Banks; her children, Dr. Dean Banks and wife, Mendi Kenimer Banks, of Florence, S.C.; Michelle Lynne Banks Shelton of Sheridan, Colo.; Matthew Kyle Banks, medical student at Touro University of Henderson, Nev.; three grandchildren, Lauren Brittany Shelton and Molly Delane Shelton, of Lowell, Mass., and Caleb Dean Banks of Florence; a sister, Valli Ann Redwine Evans and her husband, James Coolidge Evans Jr., of Bolivia; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Marion B. McGee of West Columbia, S.C., Marguerite H. Raines of Columbia, S.C., Valeria H. Soles [Jerry] of Clayton, John David Hardee [Debbie] of Supply, Wynona H. Soles [Ashley] of Loris, S.C. and Nancy H. Fipps of Mullins, S.C.; eight nieces and nephews, Eric Neil Evans, Nancy Maria Raines Kunkle [Kevin], Jeremy Kenric Soles, Jessika Nicole Soles Jones [Brian], John David Hardee, Jr., Sheri Carmel Hardee Morehead [Jeffrey], Zebeth Adriana Fowler and Hunter Forest Fipps; and two great-nephews, Preston Hardee Kunkle and Caleb Douglas Jones.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home of Myrtle Beach with service following in the McMillan-Small Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Lee Riggs. Graveside service will follow at Southern Palms Cemetery in North Myrtle Beach.
Pallbearers will be Eric Evans, John Hubbard, Kevin Kunkle, Darren McKeithan, Rick McKeithan and Daniel Piver.
The family requests that those who wish, make memorials to Ocean View Baptist Church, 7300 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.
