Marie Ann Strickler, 66, of Carolina Shores, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Agape Rehab of Conway.

She was born Aug.16, 1946, in Clarksville, Texas, daughter of the late Ocie and Nell Stringer Faulkner.
She moved to the Washington, D.C., metro area, where she met and married Jerald "Jerry" Strickler on July 3, 1976.
She worked for the state and federal government for 38 years, spending most of that career at the U.S. Treasury and U.S. Department of Commerce before retiring in 2002.
These positions afforded her the opportunity to work and visit many countries, including Saudi Arabia, Romania, China, Russia and West Africa.
In 2002, they moved to Carolina Shores where she continually perfected her game of golf.
Marie played and won many tournaments in the Metro D.C. area, including the Southern Maryland Ladies 4 Ball Championship and locally was a seven-time Carolina Shores Club Championship winner and in 2004 won the Brunswick County Ladies Championship.
Marie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jerald "Jerry" C. Strickler of Carolina Shores; brothers, Frank, Tommy, Buddy and Sammy Faulkner; sisters, Ovella Stringer and Ruby Phillips; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by three brothers, Doug, James and Chuck Faulkner.
A celebration of life service was set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Lee Funeral Home, Little River, S.C. Visitation with the family was set one hour prior to the service.
The Rev. Randy Smith of Little River United Methodist Church was set to officiate.
