Richard Joseph "Joe" Williams of Sunset Beach, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, after a three-year battle with cancer.
Joe was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 21, 1943, to the late Richard and Helen Williams. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years and retired as a master chief petty officer.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of 51 years; daughters, Kristine Fuller (Robert) of Little River, S.C., and Susan Miller (Stephen) of Charlotte Hall, Md.; five loving granddaughters, Ashley Fuller, Michelle Seales (Patrick), Courtney Fuller, Camryn Miller and Kendall Miller; and his best buddy and great-grandson, Peyton Matthew Fuller. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Patricia Ferensic of Clarksville, Md., Linda Burns (Erik) of Cochise, Ariz., and Catherine Milstead (James) of Ocean Isle Beach; brother, Matthew (Denise) of Pittsburgh; and sister-in-law, Sharon of Pittsburgh. He is preceded in death by brothers, Rick and David.
Joe was a lifetime member of the Greater Waldorf Jaycees, Calabash VFW and Calabash American Legion.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
Donations may be made to a cancer in honor of Joe.
