Robert Jennings "Bobby" Peavy Jr., 77, of Supply passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at his home.
Robert was born in Charlotte on Oct. 31, 1940, to the late Robert J. and Ruth Lockey Peavy Sr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired electrician and truck driver. Robert was a godly man who loved the Lord with all of his heart. He most recently attended Beach Assembly Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Thomas Peavy; his first wife, Billy Ann Spurlin Peavy; and second wife, Mary Etta Hooper Peavy.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Diane Smith Peavy; his children, Beth Peavy of Mooresville, Mike Peavy and wife, Carla, of Casar, Susan Peavy Blake of Dallas, N.C., Benjamin Peavy and wife, Crystal, of Cherryville, Stephen Peavy and wife, Mary, of Dallas, Paul Peavy and wife, Kelly, of Gastonia, Margaret Peavy of Mooresville and Laura Peavy Hight and husband, Rusty, of Lincolnton; stepdaughter, April Elizabeth Sanders of Supply; three sisters, Margie Mullis, Nancy Walker and Patti Summers, all of Charlotte; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at McLean Funeral Home, Gastonia.
A second Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Bolivia/Supply chapel.
The family requests with gratitude that any monetary donations be made in his name to Amedisys Hospice at 1729 Southport-Supply Road SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
