Ronald William Otten, 85, of Sunset Beach passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017.
He was born in Paterson, N.J., on July 4, 1932. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Kearfott Corp. in 1993 as a manager in reliability engineering. Ron also played minor league baseball for the Boston Braves.
His brother, Edward Otten; wife, Joy Jacqueline Otten; and son, Rand Keith Otten preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Martin Otten; son, Brad Ronald Otten (Linda); daughter, Joy Lynn Cassinelli (Scott); stepsons, Eric James Martin (Debby) and David Matthew Martin (Tracy); stepdaughters, Teri Lynn Block (Fred) and Michelle Ann Lucas (Rod); 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service was conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Pink Palace in Sea Trail Plantation, Sunset Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401
