Ruth Jeanne Adele Weidtman-Pierot passed away peacefully in Wilmington on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.
Born in Istanbul, Turkey on Oct. 16, 1934, to the late Susanne Tramsen Weidtman and Hans Weidtman, Mucki, as she was known to her family and friends, moved to the United States in 1957 and became a naturalized citizen in 1961. She went on to have a successful career in the financial industry, working for Lazard Frères, Bache, and Bear Stearns, among others, before retiring to Ocean Isle Beach.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Maximilian Walter Singer; her loving daughter and son-in law, Suzanne Marguerite Gilchrest and Winslow Browning; her brother, Eduard Weidtman; brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Stella Weidtman; nephews, Nicolas and Oliver Weidtman, and their daughters, Helena and Marlena; and her stepchildren, Verena Börner and Robert Singer and their families.
A memorial service is planned for the spring.
