Thurston Avery Etheridge, 73, of Carolina Shores, formerly of Whiteville, died on Nov. 27, 2018.
Thurston was born in Columbus County on Nov. 24, 1945, a son of the late Avery Fisher Etheridge and Katie Register Etheridge.
He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of Lebanon #207 Masonic Lodge AF & AM, and was retired from International Paper Co. after 37 years of employment.
Surviving are a son, Brian Etheridge (Lori) of Whiteville; daughters, Jennifer Mayo (Chris) of Palm City, Fla., and Wendy Etheridge of Texas; a brother, Jackie Etheridge; and a sister, Verla Mae Hayes, both of Whiteville; six grandchildren; and his significant other, Carol Arone, of Carolina Shores.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
