Josephine Perkins Armstrong, 91, of Stanley, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Stanley Total Living Center.

She was born in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Jordan and Ida Ewing Perkins, and was preceded in death by her husband Lemuel T. "Bud" Armstrong; three brothers, Clyde, Worth and Paul Perkins; and two sisters, Louise Drum and Margie Hall.
She was retired from J.P. Stevens in Stanley and was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Lawing and husband Steve of Stanley, and Shiela Huskins and husband Alan of Supply; five grandchildren, Julie H. Lock and husband John of Concord, Calif., Laura Huskins of San Francisco, Calif., Callie Huskins of Athens, Ga., Steve Lawing Jr. and wife Sharon and their child Allie Lawing of Stanley; and Jared Lawing and wife Becky and their sons Daniel and Zachary Lawing of Dallas.
A funeral service was at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 8, by the Rev. Bo Osborne in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 2:30-4 p.m. Tuesday. Interment followed in Hillcrest Gardens.
