Betty Gray Bozeman, 84, of Shallotte, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. She was born in Brunswick County, Sept. 11, 1929, a daughter of the late Edgar Laurence and Mortie Blanton Gray. She was fondly known as "The Cake Lady," for her scrumptious cakes and other baked items. She loved her church family at First Baptist Church of Shallotte, and she had a special love of flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, N.L. Bozeman; her son, Gary L. Bozeman; and her brothers, Billy, Bobby and Benny Gray.
Surviving are her son, Troy Bozeman and fiancée, Amy Musselwhite of Shallotte; daughter, Ruby Jane Bozeman of Shallotte; a brother, Lennon Gray and his wife, Penny, of Shallotte; grandchildren, Matthew Bozeman, Chris Bozeman, Carmen Snead and Denise Dixon; and great-grandchildren, Chelsey Bozeman, Tyler Snead, Mackenzie Young, Chase Bozeman and Emily Musselwhite.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, at First Baptist Church of Shallotte by the Revs. Bob Weathers and Landis Lancaster. Interment was in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Chris Bozeman, Travis Snead, Larry Blanton, Chad Gray, Jeremy Dixon and Lee Stanaland. Honorary casket bearers were Matthew Bozeman, Letha Mae Evans, Doris Green, Betty Carter, Betty Barrett, Betty Ball and Olivia Smith.
