Retired Army Capt. John Thomas Colletti Jr., 90, of Calabash, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at his residence.
Born April 8, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late John T. Colletti Sr. and Margaret Vitagliano Colletti. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and was retired from the U.S. Army as a captain. Mr. Colletti was also retired from the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Affairs Division, as a diplomat. He was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Roman Catholic Church in Shallotte.
Surviving are his loving wife, Amelia L. Colletti; two daughters, Lorene Pacella of Calabash and Christine Fought of Apex; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
