Etta Mae McKeithan Little was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Brunswick County. She entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 7, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Jasper Sylvester McKeithan and Charity Caison. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Franklin Little; son, James Maurice Little; grandson-in-law, John Luke; brother, James McKeithan; sisters, Melissa McKeithan, Bessie Smith, Ada Edwards, Molene McKeithan and Lois McKeithan; and nephew, Boyd Lee Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Thelma Little of Ash and Christine Vereen and husband, Pearly, of Ash; daughter-in-law, Diane Ganus Little of Ash; and grandchildren, Cheryl Luke of Wilmington, Brian Little and wife, Janet, of Ash, and Whitney Little of Ash. She leaves four great-grandchildren, Alex Luke, Madison Little, James Brian "Buddy" Little and Julia Little; a niece, Linda Hewett (Jan); three nephews, Nathan Edwards (Doris), Milton Smith (Rosie) and Ronnie McKeithan (Elizabeth); a special "sister," Janet Hughes; as well as many cousins and friends.
She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves many happy memories of her love for her family, church and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 9, at New Life Baptist Church with the Rev. Clayton Rivenbark and Bob Rea officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
