Linda Sellers Varnum, 86, of Supply, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia.

Born in Brunswick County, on April 9, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Hoover and Ada Pearl Atkinson Sellers. Linda was a longtime member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was retired from the NC Cooperative Extension Service after 45 years of service to Brunswick County's residents. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Durbin S. Varnum; sisters, Eloise S. Gore and Thelma S. Leonard Wright; and a brother, Edwin Sellers.
Surviving are a sister, Elsie Murray of Greenville, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Margaret Holden Sellers of Supply; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Marilyn Gore, Liberty Home Health, Lower Cape Fear Hospice and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter, Bolivia.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Friday, July 4, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Interment followed in Galloway Memorial Cemetery, West, Supply.
Pallbearers were Phil Gore, Michael Gore, Christopher Gore, Jeff Leonard, Hubert Varnum Jr. and Maurice Galloway. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Varnum, Donald Varnum and Barry Leonard.
The family received friends Friday morning at the church.
