Nell Redwine Harrelson, 72, of Ocean Isle Beach, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014.

She was born in Brunswick County on Feb. 1, 1942. Nell and her husband, Al Harrelson, owned and operated Big Nell's Pit Stop Grill, a Brunswick County landmark.
Big Nell was an example of true friendship and dedication to family and community and will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of the home, are daughters, Yolanda Bentley of Ocean Isle Beach and Billie Jo Overstreet and husband, Duane, of Canton; a son, Ricky Harrelson and wife, Pat, of Rozwell, Ga.; a sister, Sandy Wilson and brother, Charlie Dennis, both of High Point; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lillian Bentley, Abigail Bentley, Hannah Underwood, Zoe McComb, all of the home, whom she raised as her own, and Jessie Underwood, Cody Hardin, Isaac Overstreet, Ephraim Overstreet, Jeremy Harrelson, Jason Harrelson and Angel Harrelson.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in Jennies Branch Baptist Church by the Rev. Robbie Stephens. Burial followed in Brooks Cemetery.
The family received friends at the church prior to the service.
