Everette Hanna, 87, of Ocean Isle Beach, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice House in Bolivia.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro, with a graveside service following at Anson Memorial Park.
Everette was born in Wadesboro, Anson County, on May 25, 1925, a son of the late Preston Ferrell and Rosa Brower Hanna.
He served in the Navy during World War II aboard a submarine.
Everette worked for Burlington Industries and was owner and operator of Hanna's Exxon until his retirement.
After retirement he worked part-time for NAPA Auto Parts.
Everette's hobbies were fishing and gardening vegetables and flowers.
He was a 32nd-degree Mason for more than 50 years, and was a lifetime member of both the VFW and the DAV.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cherrie Pratt Hanna; his son, E. Alan Hanna and wife Gail; three granddaughters, Sandy, Melanie and Alison and husband David; four great-grandsons, Triston, Dylan, Andrew and Hunter; and one brother, Jake Hanna and wife Becky.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Hanna; and sisters, Christine Lisenby and Lib Watts.
