Dorothy Mae (Baker) Jones(1938 - 2013)

Dorothy Mae Jones, 74, of Brush, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2013, at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley with her family at her side.
Dorothy was born April 19, 1938, to Lester and Nellie Baker in Snyder, CO.
She graduated from Snyder High School in 1956.
Soon after graduation, she met the love of her life, Kenneth E. Jones and they were married on June 10, 1956 at the Snyder United Methodist Church.
They then moved to Nebraska for a few months and then to Brush, where they raised their three children, who are all Brush High School graduates.
Dorothy worked as an administrative clerk for the East Morgan County Hospital for 26 years.
She loved attending her boys' and brothers' sporting events.
She continued to attend the sporting events of her nieces and nephews.
She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, which included attending her granddaughter's musical recitals.
She was a Beetdigger fan and loved her Denver Broncos.
She dearly loved attending the Snyder Bible Church, her craft get-togethers at Snyder Community Hall and going to Central City.
She enjoyed helping in the pitch room at the Fireman's Turkey Shoot.
Her hobbies included crocheting, crossword puzzles, cards, and playing bingo.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of 56 years; her daughter, Vicky Sheeley of Brush; her two sons, Randy of Longview, TX and Edward (Jennifer) of Brush; two grandsons, Joshua Jones of Stillwater, OK and Jeremy Jones of Mustang, OK; three granddaughters, Morgan and Lillian Jones of Brush, and Amanda Spikes (Adam) and great-granddaughter, Emilyn, all of Stillwater, OK.
She is also survived by her sister, Rose Reitz of Brush; brothers, Gene (Janet), Wayne (Joyce), Marvin (Marlene), Geo (Carol), all of Brush, John (Nina) of Grand Junction, CO, Dave (Sue) of Denver, CO; sisters-in-law, Nadine Bair and Marge Jones, both of Plainville, KS, Eileen Lane (Dewey) of McHenry, IL., Thelda Schafer of Topeka, Kansas, and Shirley Baker of Brush, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a very special friend, Pat Rodriguez.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Morey, Larry and infant George, and brother-in-law Walter "Sonny" Reitz.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Snyder Bible Church in Snyder, CO.
Interment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 4, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary in Brush.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Snyder Bible Church C/O of the Heer Mortuary & Crematory in Brush, who was in charge of the arrangements.
