Gerald (Jer) Alan Kelly, 51, son of Betty and Ken Kelly of Akron, CO, was born on February 17, 1963, and passed away at his home in Fort Morgan from a lengthy illness on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
Jer was born and raised in Brush and graduated from Brush High School in 1981.
He attended Morgan Community College graduating in September 1986, with a certificate in L. P. Gas Operations, Safety, Transportation, Liquid Transfer and Appliance Repair.
Later in his life, Jer once again attended Morgan Community College taking classes in Computer science and technology. Jer had several jobs during his lifetime, but his favorite job was working with his Uncle Ross Hafer. They worked for Superior Design out of Dallas, TX.
He and his uncle traveled all over the United States installing telephones and IT equipment for large industries such as AT&T.
Jer's favorite hobby was collecting, setting up and running his model train set. It was very sophisticated and would cover a 10' x 12' area. He also enjoyed camping and rendezvous. He loved his pets and was a very caring person.
Survivors include his parents, Betty and Ken Kelly of Akron, CO, his sister, Chris Pangle and her husband Jeff of Kearney, NE, and their twin boys Matthew and Mitchell Pangle of Lincoln, NE; and his younger brother, Tim of Akron, CO.
At Jer's request no services will be held at this time. Jer requested cremation and have his cremated remains placed at the gravesite of his beloved grandmother, "G" Lydia Lage in the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
The Heer Mortuary & Crematory in Brush has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
