Louie C. Ferguson Jr., 87, longtime area resident, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at his home in Brush.
He was born July 12, 1926, in Hoxie, Kansas, to Louie and Sophia (Baumann) Ferguson. Junior moved with his family to Colorado in 1929.
He graduated from Otis High School in 1945.
On April 26, 1953, he married M. Arlene Smith in Otis. Shortly after their marriage in 1953 they moved to Brush. They had four sons, Dan, Mike, Bob, and Tim.
Junior enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his son's athletic activities, and playing cards.
He began his auto mechanic career in Brush for Noffsinger Motors. He started Junior's Garage in 1959, where all four of his boys worked at one time. Later he began selling used cars.
Junior is survived by his sons, Mike Ferguson and his wife Irina of Chelyabinsk, Russia, Bob Ferguson and his wife Kathie, of Fort Morgan, and Tim Ferguson and his wife Donna, of Brush, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild.
Junior was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, his son Dan, his sister Joan, his brother Dale, and his parents.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush.
Inurnment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery.
