David M. Daviet Obituary
David M. Daviet of Greeley, CO, died March 19, 2014, at Hospice of Northern Colorado.
He was born June 8, 1951, to Joseph and Dorathy Daviet in Englewood, CO.
He was baptized and attended Living Waters Tabernacle, Denver, CO.
As a teen, he moved with his family to Greeley, CO where he attended John Evans and Greeley Central High School.
He was proud to serve in the U.S. Army 101st Screaming Eagles. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic.
On October 29, 1970, he married Andrea Wilkins. They were blessed with a daughter, Lisa Monet and a son David Michael "Mike".
After an honorable discharge in 1970, he returned to Greeley where he was the first of the second generation to join the family business, Newco, Inc. He continued to work as a company director, Secretary/Treasurer and manager of the Fort Morgan, CO branch for 40 years. He retired in 2012.
He was united in marriage to Jean Whiteacre on February 14, 1992.
He enjoyed cooking and spent many hours cooking lunches for the crew at the Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity.
He is survived by his loving wife Jean; daughter, Lisa (Renae) Daviet of Santa Fe, NM; Son, Mike (Bobbi) Daviet of Greeley; grandchildren, Brenndan, Alexandria, and Ashlynn of Greeley, CO; father, Joe Daviet of Brush, CO; sisters, Carol "Rusty" (Sam) Clothier of Littleton, CO, Connie Daviet of Brush CO, Nancy (Chuck) Hockley of Addy, WA; stepchildren, K. Allen (Nicole) Whiteacre of Stafford, VA, James (Ange) Whiteacre of Lone Tree CO, Karen (Paul) Behlen of Littleton, CO, Jennifer (Chuck) Tate of Littleton, CO; step-grandchildren, Joshua Gregg, Drew Parsons, Michael Whiteacre, Amber Gregg, LCPL Mark Tate, Tyler Tucker, Renae Parsons, Anja Whiteacre, Rachel Tate, Genvieve Behlen, Jacob Whiteacre, Luke Whiteacre; great-grandson, Jaxon Parsons and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorathy V. Daviet.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at First United Methodist Church of Greeley. Graveside Inurnment is at 1:30 p.m.on Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity.
