Helen Hoffman Obituary
Helen Hoffman, 95, life resident of Brush, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.
She was born October 12, 1917, in Brush to Conrad and Katherine Bostron.
Helen married Henry Hoffman at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush on March 10, 1940. The Hoffman's farmed NE of Brush until Henry retired.
Helen was a very active member of the Immanuel Congregational Church, singing in the choir for 40 years and was active with the Women's Fellowship. She was a former member of he Brush Garden Club for 47 years, serving as President, Vice President and was involved in the Local, District, State and National Garden Clubs.
She helped organize and judge many flower shows on the various levels. She was also a member of the East Morgan County Hospital Auxiliary, having served as president on two different occasions.
She was also a Life Charter Member of the Morgan County Cattlewomen's Club.
Her hobbies included floral arranging, gardening, growing African Violets, Christmas Cactus, and many more house plants. She especially enjoyed making floral arrangements and decorations for the church, EMCH Auxiliary, friends and special occasions.
Survivors include one sister, Esther Sergeant of El Cerrito, CA; three brothers, Ruben Bostron of Fort Morgan; Reinhold Bostron and Donald Bostron both of Brush; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Henry, one sister, Rachel; one brother, Dan; her parents, her step-mother and a step-sister.
Funeral services will be held at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush on Friday, August 23, 2013, at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Immanuel Congregational Church Memorial Fund.
