On March 3, 2013, the Lord peacefully took Marilyn A. Rieb, 74, into His loving arms at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley following a short illness.
She was born December 22, 1938, in Sterling, CO, to Elroy and Christine Gollobith.
Marilyn graduated from St. Anthony High School in Sterling in 1956. ON April 11, 1959, she married Ken Rieb in Sterling. The Rieb family made their home in Brush since their marriage.
Prior to retirement, Marilyn worked as a cook for the RE-2J School District for 33 years.
She was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush, and the East Morgan County Hospital Auxiliary.
Some of Marilyn's passions included making memory bears, shopping, baking, and gambling. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Ken of Brush; her mother, Chris Gollobith of Brush; 3 children, Ellen Engel, and her husband Doug of Thornton, CO, Chuck Rieb, and his wife Cathy of Thornton, and Crystal Winter, and her husband Brad of Parker, CO; 1 sister, Claudia Kaiser, and her husband Ken of St. Louis, MO; and 8 grandchildren, Samantha, Katie, Tony, Allyson Englel; Abbie, Zoe Rieb; and Kayla and Mitchell Winter.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her Father, Elroy Gollobith and her brother, Loren Gollobith.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A private inurnment at a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
A vigil and rosary service will be held Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church to celebrate Marilyn's life.
The Heer Mortuary & Crematory in Brush is entrusted with the funeral and cremation arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or to EMCH Auxiliary both c/o the Heer Mortuary, 222 Cameron Street in Brush, CO 80723.
