Stanley Brown Paynter Obituary
Stanley Brown Paynter, 89, "Beloved Dad," was borne away to his Heavenly Father on Monday, March 25, 2013, after a short illness.
Stan was born November 27, 1923, in Fort Morgan to William Brown and Sarah Grace Iles Paynter. He graduated from Brush High School in 1942, enlisted in the Navy, and attended the Midshipmen's Academy in Ithaca, NY, where he received official orders to invade Japan. After faithfully serving his country, he attended the University of Colorado Law School.
A lifelong resident of Brush, he married Bette Rose Connors on October 5, 1950, and began his career as a respected realtor, insurance agent and businessman.
Stan was a member of the Brush Chamber of Commerce, Morgan County Board of Realtors, the Highway 71 Commission and the Brush Rotary Club.
His presence will be greatly missed by his survivors, daughters, Carol Paynter of Brush, and Joan and Izzy Guzman of Frederick, CO; five grandchildren, Beth Thiele, and her husband, Mark, Nikki Guzman, Jill Guzman, Rico Portuese, Ramon Portuese; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Isabelle, Benjamin, and Nataly.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bette Rose.
A special "Thanks" to the many friends, family, and neighbors who helped enrich Stan's life. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush.
Immediately following will be a gathering of family and friends at the East Morgan County Library at 500 Clayton Street in Brush.
In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made to East Morgan County Library.
Heer Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
