Elven "Sam" W. Sandoz, 94, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Valley View Villa.|
He was born January 1, 1920, on the family farm near Brush to Alfred and Emma Sandoz.
Sam enlisted in the U.S. Army on Nov. 10, 1942, and served until his honorable discharge on April 8, 1944.
After his discharge, Sam returned to Morgan County and farmed near Gary, CO, with his brother, Oliver Farming was his passion in life. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include three sisters, Dorothy (Jerry) Rundle of San Diego, CA, Lorena Wertz and Betty Wertz both of Greeley; nine nephews and nieces and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lola Sharp and Ilene Milburn; two brothers, Laurel (Bud) Sandoz, and Oliver Sandoz; and one niece.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush.
Military honors by the U.S. Army and VFW #3551 will be conducted at the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
