Spence Jr., Ivey L. - Keller  
KELLER -- Ivey L. Spence Jr., passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at his residence. Ivey was a lifelong resident of Keller. He was a former Georgia state trooper and retired from Union Camp. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a very active worker in Boy Scout Troop 527 for many years. Ivey was twice past master of Bryan Masonic Lodge #303. He was also a member of the D.P. Club. Ivey was a member of First Baptist Church Richmond Hill and was instrumental in the start-up of the Truck Stop Ministries in Richmond Hill and Brunswick. He pastored churches in Chatham, Bryan and surrounding counties. Ivey was a faithful witness for the Lord and he never met a stranger. He was a friend to those who had no friends. He is survived by his wife, Anna Spence of Keller; sons, Ivey "Jabo" Spence III (Kathi) of Richmond Hill, and Ben Spence (Kandie) of Richmond Hill; his grandchildren, Cooper, Lee, Mattie and Griffin; a brother, Jack Spence (June) of Keller; and a sister, Patricia Watson (P.J.) of South Hill, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, at First Baptist Church Richmond Hill. His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at First Baptist Church Richmond Hill. Burial will be in Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Richmond Hill Building Fund, P.O. Box 1390, Richmond Hill, GA 31324. Richmond Hill Funeral Home, , has charge of arrangements.
