Mrs. Barbara S. Floyd, 72, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Floyd was a longtime resident of Garden City and a member of Cedar Hill Christian Church in Virginia. She retired as a teacher after 35 years of service in Virginia and Chatham County. She was an avid seamstress and an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn M. and Myrtle Kinser Sergent.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, James "Jim" Floyd of Garden City; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Al Usher of Shawnee and Rhonda F. and Mark Harkness of Thomasville; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Claude Penley of Jonesville, Va., and four grandchildren.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Al Usher officiating. Interment will follow in Lawrence Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation is an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
