Betty Alexander Howell

Mrs. Betty Alexander Howell, 82, died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Howell was a longtime resident of Ellabell and a member of Bloomingdale Alliance. She retired from Trade Winds Seafood Packing Company, where she served as a supervisor in the specialty plant, and from Sommers Oil Company. She loved to sing at church, enjoyed knitting and canning and was an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 58 years, Joe Ceiphus Howell, and son, Robert "Bob" Howell.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joe C. and Patsy L. Howell Jr. of Ellabell; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia H. and Dan Morrow and Pamela H. Griffin, all of Ellabell; daughter-in-law, Vickie Howell; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
