Earl Eugene Blitch, age 72, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice after an extended illness.
Mr. Blitch was a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, having served in the Vietnam War
. He was an electrician, a member of the International Brother of Electrical Works and attended Southland Baptist Church. Mr. Blitch loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles and was an excellent mechanic.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Blitch; parents, Raymond Felton and Maggie Lou Blitch; and three brothers, Roy Blitch, Ray Blitch and Richard Blitch.
Survivors include one son, Earl Eugene Blitch II of Graham, Wash.; one brother, Thomas Cleveland Blitch of Claxton; sisters, Ann Stanley of Glennville, Dot Wiggins of Pembroke, Rhonda Walden of Sylvania, Linda Strickland of Claxton and Glenda Wratchford of Guyton; a sister-in-law, Dot Blitch of Pembroke; and one grandson, Branden Blitch of Milton, Wash.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Strickland officiating.
