Eva Dell (Sowell) Pittman

Mrs. Eva Dell Sowell Pittman, 84, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at home.
Mrs. Pittman was a homemaker and a longtime member of Bloomingdale Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy. She was a volunteer caregiver to the elderly, a wonderful cook, an avid seamstress, enjoyed her flower garden and loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Alma Steedley Sowell.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Lavelle Pittman of Ellabell; sons and daughters-in-law, James L. and Karen Pittman and Ronnie and Lisa Pittman, all of Statesboro; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Ed Fosburgh of Bloomingdale and Connie and Tom Black of Macon; brothers, J.U. "Mutt" Sowell, Omer Lee Sowell and Gene Sowell, all of Waycross, and Marcus Sowell of Stone Mountain; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and other family members.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the sanctuary of Bloomingdale Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Mark Minter and Pastor Tom Black officiating.
Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the church.
