Florence G. Altman, 73, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Hospice of Savannah after a short battle with cancer.
She was a resident of Richmond Hill for the past 38 years coming from Savannah. Mrs. Altman retired from Candler Hospital as a registered nurse after 38 years of service. She was a member Warren A Candler Alumni, where she graduated in 1960, and was a member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Altman is survived by her husband, Raymond L. "Buddy" Altman of Richmond Hill; two sons, Raymond L. Altman Jr. and Clifford Altman (Lynn), both of Richmond Hill; four grandchildren, Raymond "Tray" Altman III, Kyle S. Altman, Robert "Robbie" Altman and Jonathan Altman; two sisters, Louise Marlow of Savannah and Janis Crosby (John) of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Tucker of Hampton, S.C., and Edith Green of Savannah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with the Rev. Glen Martin officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Candler alumni.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
