James M. Godley, 70, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Eagle Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Godley was a native of Savannah but lived in Pembroke for more than 28 years. He was a member of Pembroke Christian Church and Ivanhoe Hunt Club. He loved to hunt, fish and sit on the back porch with family and friends and was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Madicus H. and Catherine Bell Godley.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Helen M. Godley of Pembroke; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Steve Ashburn of Warrenton, Va., Karen and Tim Ramage of Savannah and Christine and Jody Callison of Pembroke; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Martha Godley of Florence, SC; grandchildren Megan Wright of Phoenix, Stefanie Ashburn of Warrenton, VA, Josh Ashburn of Fairfax, Va., Justice Ramage and Jericho Ramage, both of Statesboro, and Rachel Hagan of Pembroke; great-grandchildren, Annabella, Savannah, Noah, Elijah and Colt; mother-in-law, Moira McKinnie; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Manuel Sanchez, Martin and Joan McKinnie, Barbara McKinnie, Neil and Sue McKinnie, Bruce and Alice McKinnie and Moira Hoyt; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Sullivan Jr. officiating.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pembroke Christian Church.
