Malcom A. "Bud" Brannen entered into eternal rest on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Shady Grove, Fla., in 1930, and grew up in Fort Myers, Fla. He joined the U.S. Navy
in 1949 and served during the Korean conflict
. He moved to Savannah in 1959 and started his own business, Brannen Distributing Company. He married his high school sweetheart, Pat, in 1950 and had three children. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Allee Temple Character Unit in the late 1980s. Recently, he was very active in the Richmond Hill Senior Citizens Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 1982 and second wife, Alberta, in May.
He is survived by his sons, Malcolm Darryl Brannen (Debra) and Steve C. Brannen (Debbie); and his daughter, Shelley Brannen Prince (John).
A graveside service is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to the Richmond Hill Senior Citizens Center.
