Phyllis Elizabeth Hodges Holland, 84, entered eternal rest Monday, April 14, 2014.
Born July 1, 1929, she was a native of Tattnall County and lived in Richmond Hill since the 1950s. She was a graduate of Collins High School. She was a generous, gifted, charming lady who loved people. A faithful member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church, she served for many years as the bereavement meals coordinator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roach R. Hodges and Alice Jarriel Hodges Hendley; brother, Ray Russell Hodges; and grandson, Lewis F. Tuttle III.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gordon Holland; four children, Elizabeth Sieg, Yvonne Benton (Billy), Dale Tuttle (Skip) and David G. Holland; sister, Dorothy Wedincamp; grandchildren, Ross Benton (Catherine), Elizabeth Tuttle, Lauren Powell (Thomas), Jacob Holland, Dee Dee Daniel and John Benton (Marie); six great-grandchildren, Violet Powell, Miles Benton, Taylor Benton, Ashley Benton, Ashton Benton and Justin Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church. A Celebration Service will follow at 11 a.m. Honorary pallbearers are the Saints and the Saints Sunday school class.
The family gives special thanks to Dr. Moody and the Compassionate Care Hospice team.
