Ellis D. Huggins, 92, died Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013, at The Place in Pooler.
Mr. Huggins was a longtime resident of Bryan County and was a farmer and truck driver for more than 30 years. He was an avid gardener and loved to hunt.
Mr. Huggins is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mills Huggins; parents, John Robert and Oma Julia Groover Huggins; three sons, Michael Huggins, Chuck Huggins and Bobby Huggins; and two sisters, Thelma Powell and Lanell Tilton.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ellis D. Jr. and Cindy Huggins and Rick and Sandy Huggins, all of Pembroke, and Terry and Gale Huggins of Brooklet; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Randy Barker and Susan Sutherland, all of Twin City and Louise and Leon Glacking of Covington, Ky.; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
