Richmond Hill
Larry A. Shoot, 57, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at home following complications with cancer.
Mr. Shoot was a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. His career began with Boeing in Wichita, Kan., where he met his wife, Angela. They moved to Milford, Conn., where he was employed with Sikorsky Helicopter for many years. They then moved to Slidell, La., when his career took them to Lockheed Martin, where he worked on the Ares 1, Ares V and Orion space projects. He was a former member of the Patriot Guard and auxiliary member of the VFW Post Np. 7788.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Shoot.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Shoot of Richmond Hill; two children, Stephanie Shoot of Memphis, Tenn., and Thomas Shoot, currently attending Georgia Southern in Statesboro; two step-daughters, Terrell Sublett of Palm Bay, Fla., and Amy Klimaszewski of Stratford, Conn.; his mother, Jane (Anderson) Searles of Deltona, Fla.; and his brother, Michael Shoot of Kissimmee, Fla.
A memorial service is at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Richmond Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the , South Atlantic Division, 6600 Abercorn St., Suite 206, Savannah, Ga., 31405.
