Mrs. Robbie Janette "Jan" Shuman, 73, of Claxton passed away Sunday morning, April 26, 2015, at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mrs. Shuman was a district comptroller for Sears. She was a member of Claxton Church of God, and enjoyed shopping, her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Franklin Pierce "Buddy" Shuman; parents, Clyde Thomas Hammond and Nita Earl Milton Hamilton; brothers, Michael Wayne Hammond and Thomas Gordon Hammond; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Belinda Shuman; and sister and brother-in-law, Anita E. and Jack L. Barrand.
Survivors include son, Michael Shuman and wife Shelia of Reidsville; grandchildren, Kyle Shuman, Chelsey Shuman, Thomas "Tommy" Shuman and Elizabeth Dixon; niece and nephew, Vicki and Michael Tibbs; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April, 29, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home in Pembroke.
Her funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gregory Ely and the Rev. Leland Jeffers officiating.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Glennville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Claxton Church of God, 11982 Hwy. 280, Claxton, GA 30417.
