Mr. Thomas Berry, 66, passed peacefully away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a Bryan County native but resided in Glennville for many years. He attended the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Groveland. He was employed with Glennville Hatchery in Glennville.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Berry of Glennville; his daughter, Debra Williams of Claxton, his step-children, Gena (Thaddeus) Baker of Fayetteville, N.C., Shirley Brown of Norristown, Penn., Billy Harvey of Melvin, Ark., Leroy Harvey of Morgan and Jermaine (Francis) Harvey of Nolfork, Va.; a sister, Lula (Willie) Roberson of Savannah; two brothers, Curtis (Francis) Cuttray and Isaiah (Lula) Cuttray, both of Savannah; a special and devoted cousin, Evonne Porter of Savannah; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Groveland with the Rev. Craig R. Tremble, eulogist, and the Rev. Victor Brewton, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in the Little Salem Cemetery in Groveland.
Mr. Berry will lie-in-state an hour prior to the service at the church.
