William L. Baker went to join our Lord on July 4, at Baptist South Hospital, Jacksonville, FL after a short illness. He was 83 years old.

Mr. Baker was born on October 11, 1923, in Irwin, TN, and moved to Jacksonville from Savannah in 1984. He retired from the Merchant Marines after 40 years as a 2nd Assistant Engineer. He was a dedicated and loving, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Marrilie Baker; son, Terry L. Myers and wife, Agnes; daughter, Linda Myers Harn, and husband, Cookie; grandchildren, Cookie Harn Jr., Dusty Harn Sivils and husband, Mark, Caroline Myers Kinsey and husband, Randy, Simone Myers Doyle and husband Jim; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at 7 p.m., Friday, July 6, in the Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Cox Chapel, with the Rev. Carlton Cooper of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating.
Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Cox Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
