Busey Preston "Trey" Stokes, III of Richmond Hill, 53, died Thursday, March 14.
He was born April 1, 1959, in Savannah. He formerly attended Rothwell Baptist Church and graduated from Savannah Christian School with a full football scholarship to The Citadel, Charleston, S.C. As a youth along with football, he enjoyed baseball tennis and was quite graceful on roller skates. Also, he played the hand bells with Bull Street Baptist Church and played the oboe with the Savannah Youth Symphony. An avid golfer, he loved his Monday golf games with his buddies, as well as his annual golf trips to reconnect with old friends. However, most of his time was devoted to Keller's Flea Market. Vendors and customers share in our heartbreaking loss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B. Preston Stokes Jr. and Brenda Fields Rennolds; grandparents, Busey Preston Stokes, Essie Parmer Lumpkin, Clarence C. Fields and Vera H. Fields.
He is survived by his "almost" mother, Margaret B. Stokes of Pooler; "almost" daddy, Thomas H. Rennolds III. of Richmond Hill; his sister and brother-in-law, Hubert and Cheri Stokes Keller of Pooler; Uncle Everett "Cracker" Stokes; Aunt Rose Fields Bradley; "almost family" Lisa Weir of Chapin, S.C., Missy Edwards of Cumming, Paul Ward of Statesboro, Cynthia R. Smith of Alpharetta, Kathryn L. Rennolds of Atlanta and many more loving family and friends.
The family thanks everyone for all of the acts of kindness and compassion that has been shown during this most sad time. "We are truly blessed."
