Mildred Hughes Briganti, 94, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Autumn Care Nursing Home in Shallotte, North Carolina. Between the years 1964 and 2008, Mrs. Briganti was a resident in the Yardley-Morrisville area.
Mrs. Briganti was born in Abbeville, South Carolina, and during her lifetime lived in South Carolina, New York, Venezuela, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. She earned a B.A. in Music Education from Lander College in Greenwood, South Carolina.
She was married for 34 years to the late Theodore Briganti with whom she had three children: Nancy Briganti of Carolina Shores, North Carolina; John Briganti of Fairfield, Iowa; and William Briganti of Arlington, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Murph of Greenwood, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa Ramey of Abbeville, South Carolina.
Wherever she lived, Mildred was an active member of her community. She was a member of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for 40 years and served as a deacon and an elder. She enjoyed gardening, women's clubs, and bridge. She also volunteered with Mercer Mart, Meals on Wheels, and other charitable organizations.
She will be interred at the Princeton Cemetery in New Jersey. Memorials may be made to the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA 19067.
