Donald W. Prince, Sr.

NEVADA: Donald W. Prince, Sr., age 68, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 9:43PM at his home in Nevada.

Don was born on August 14, 1944 in Scioto County, Ohio to Arthur L. and Edith A. (Nunley) Prince, both of whom are deceased. He married Martha Searls on August 10, 1989 and she survives.

He is also survived by a son Donald W. Prince, Jr., of Nevada and a daughter Misti (Mark) Alspach of Bucyrus; and two granddaughters, Sydney and Bailey Alspach; along with two brothers, Charles Prince of Upper Sandusky and Herman Prince of Nevada; and three sisters, Dorothy Ard of Nevada, Sarah VanBuskirk of Nevada and Susie (Bob) Blankenship of Nevada. Don was preceded in death by five brothers, Lonnie, Zulus, Albert, James and Raymond who died at infancy.

Don worked for 34 years as a welder for the Mills Company in Upper Sandusky. He was a former member of the Wyandot County Coon Hunters Association, and both the Moose Lodge 1093 and Eagles Lodge which are both located in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies he enjoyed bowling at Wyandot Lanes, fishing, playing euchre, and following his sport teams, the Reds, Bengals and the OSU Buckeyes.

Funeral services for Donald W. Prince Sr. will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, February 12 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Ben Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery. Visitations will be held on Monday, February 11, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
