Freda Pfleiderer
BUCYRUS: Freda Pfleiderer, 96 of rural Bucyrus passed away early Monday at Orchard Park where she had most recently resided.
Freda was born October 20, 1916 in Chatfield Township, Crawford Co. to the late Jonas and Tonie (Herriger) Hoss. She was married October 5, 1941 to Orlo Pfleiderer who preceded her in death on May 14, 2002.
In addition to her husband; she was preceded in death by brother, Marvin Hoss; and sister, Doris Cordrey.
Mrs. Pfleiderer is survived by children, Kenneth (Betty) Pfleiderer of Bucyrus, Karen (Sam) Ragland of Tucson, Arizona, Phyllis (Ron) Hinamon of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Jim Pfleiderer of rural Bucyrus, David (Lisa) Pfleiderer of rural Bucyrus, Jason (Stephanie) Hinamon of Toledo, Neely (Alan) Young of Bucyrus; great grandchildren, Delany and Tyler Hinamon of Toledo, Morgan and Addison Young of Bucyrus; step great grandchildren, Amanda Young of Toledo and Craig Young of Fort Carson, Colorado; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Freda graduated from Chatfield High School and was the last living member of the class of 1934 where she was the valedictorian. She also graduated from Bliss College of Business in Columbus. Over the years Freda worked as a bookkeeper in several offices in Bucyrus. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, playing cards, and helping her husband farm.
Freda was a Lutheran her entire life and currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sulphur Springs where she held several offices in the Dorcas Circle. She was baptized, confirmed and married by the late Rev. Paul Dornbirer of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Chatfield. Freda was also a 4-H leader, and performed volunteer work.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. with Rev. Hans Scherner and Rev. Jack Kocsis officiating, burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-7 pm.
