BUCYRUS: Marvin A. Courtad, age 93, from Bucyrus died at the Kobacker House, Columbus at 2:23am on Sunday November 17, 2013.

He was born on July 15, 1920 in Wyandot County to Floyd and Mary (Vroman) Courtad.

He married Dorothy Walton on September 16, 1943 and she survives in Bucyrus. They celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Mr. Courtad is survived by two sons, Dennis (Terri) Courtad, Marvin Courtad Jr. both of Bucyrus; a daughter, Sandra Schriner, Attica; five grandchildren, Curt Courtad, Craig Courtad, Ashley Miller, Jackie Reyes, Julie Strasser; six great grandchildren, Grant, Reese, Trevon, Haley, Cayden, Colton; brother, Ray (Pat) Courtad, Forest; sister, Joan (Vike) Reinschell, Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Paul Schriner; and sister, Mary Alice Stoneburner.

He was a WWII Army Veteran in the 116th Chemical Division. Mr. Courtad was a lifetime farmer. He was a laborer at the former Cobey Company for 21 years and had worked at Galion Peabody as a welder. Mr. Courtad was a member of the American Legion and the Bloomville Grange. For hobbies he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, listening to country music, playing the guitar and singing at different functions.

A funeral service will be held Thursday November 21, 2013 at noon in BRINGMAN CLARK Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Haner officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery with Full Military Rites being conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 20, 2013 from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
