MANSFIELD: Michelle Lynn Pence, 42, of Mansfield, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 after a brief illness. Born July 30, 1971 in Marion, she was the daughter of Dwight David and Margie (Brown) Monk. Michelle graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1989 and worked as the Activities Director at Crestline Nursing Home. She enjoyed gospel singing and going for motorcycle rides. Michelle also loved taking her dogs for walks around the reservoir and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, cherished mother, and a dear sister. Michelle never knew a stranger, she was a friend to everyone she met, a role model to her children, and an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis Pence of Mansfield, whom she married June 20, 1991; daughter, Amber Marie Pence of Mansfield; son, Cam David Pence of Mansfield; dogs, Micky and Reb; brother, Brian Monk of New York City; sisters, Cherie (Mark) Ferguson of Shelby and Stacey Monk and Steve Scott of Bucyrus; brothers-in-law, Shawn, Jeremiah, and Travis Pence, all of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; one great nephew; several aunts and uncles; and in-laws, Sharon and Emory Estep and Brenda Pence. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at Bucyrus Church of God, 1304 Woodlawn Ave., Bucyrus, conducted by Pastors Ernie Surgerner and Bruce Philipie. Family and friends will gather prior to the service at the church from 5:30-6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the or the Humane Society of Richland County.
